Hi there! I'm Diana.
I live in New Westminster, BC with my husband and our two lovely goofballs (5yrs and 2yrs). Photography always had a special place in my heart. As a child, one of my favorite things to do was pull out the family photo albums where I'd spend hours looking at photographs. Besides, listening to stories my mom would repeatedly share, those albums served as a passage to some of my fondest childhood memories. As an adult now, I have a deepened appreciation for having those visual records of my past. Because in the end, life is just a series of events. And what good is it if we can't remember them?
I've been a commissioned photographer since 2011, shooting product shots, portraits, headshots, food, weddings and corporate events. I was everywhere, shooting almost everything as a means to find myself in the broad scope of photography. Then I had a family. Life seem to fly by so quickly with a little one in the house. I wanted to make records of life, that would allow us to remember who we were, how we lived and how we felt in real moments. Boom...that's when I started embracing the documentary approach to shooting my family and that's when I decided to offer documentary-style family sessions to parents who get this too.
When I'm not photographing families, I'm probably eating the crusts off my daughter's grilled cheese sandwich or picking another booger from my two-year old's nose. If we're not searching for a treat to satisfy our sweet tooth, you might find us in the courtyard, looking at all sorts of interesting bugs.
Besides photography and being a mom - volleyball, swimming and hot yoga are my favorite ways to keep the 'inner ugly' from arising so I can be my best self. I enjoy connecting with other artists and photographers in the community when I can...but if I'm not doing that, I'm probably making a late-night run to the grocery store because we're out of milk!
